Jorge Fernandez Calderon: For me translation is about boundaries- breaking strategy, the means which by languages share their ideas, thoughts and culture; so as to build a bridge between two different worlds, a doorway to reach the arcane, and the lens to those who crave a better view of the vast cosmos.
Natalie Johanna Niño Arciniegas: For me translation is a way of getting involved in the world and know cultures in a specific way. I also think that translation opens the doors to be in contact with different languages and allows us to know their origin. Besides I think that translation is a technique that requires skills and abilities to translate different documents in various fields. Translation also enables to us to know the distinct strategies and methods to develop an adequate job.
Ideas, emotions and ways of thinking.
Natalia Vargas Cifuentes: For me translation is an art, an ability, a discipline that helps us to have an access to the literature, science and different fields. I also consider that it is a science that has many years of existence and has allowed people of generation through generation to communicate with other civilisations in order to achieve business and have productive talks for the improvement of political, economic systems among others. That’s why I think the work of a translator should be highly valued as one of the toughest jobs in society.
Jhonni Farley Perez Quiceno: For me translation is an art that consists of an adequate conveyance of meaning from one language to another one.
Diana Asprilla Rodriguez: For me, translation is a very significant activity which entails a great deal of responsibility. In the same manner, I see translation as an art because ideas, emotions and ways of thinking are expressed.
Emilin Andrea Bocanegra: Translation is the complex task of converting original texts with contributions of authors abroad into a target language. The aim is to exchange between foreign language communities the knowledge collected and preserved by cultural societies along the history.
Valeria Forero Abello: For me translation is a communicative act because it is a goal to transmit the same message in both languages without changing its sense and purpose.
Daniel Ricardo Diaz: For me translation is the act of conveying one message from one language to another one, without changing the sense and taking into account both cultures in order to convey the right meaning.
Carol Dayhana Ocampo Quintero: For me translation is not only a communicative act in which translator transmits a message from one language to another one, but it also it transmits culture in the texts that are translated.
Humberto Rojas Correa: For me translation is an activity that involves various fields due to the fact that a translator should know about the topic that is being translated. Also, it is a communicative art that helps people to trade information in different languages.
John Alexander Silva: For me translation is a very useful and applicable technique for those people who have the desire of acquire new knowledge about different political, religious, scientific and cultural topics, taking into account that this job necessarily requires to do so. Translation is a job in which people not only have to take information from one language to another, but also they need to clearly understand it in order to achieve an appropriate result.
Luisa Fernanda Correa: Translation is one of the ways to create communication among cultures, letting that every single word or sentence does not loss the coherence in the original text. Translation is necessary for many fields of investigation, because all the information that is available in several languages, is going to be a useful vehicle for communication worldwide.
Jaisson Quiroz: For me translation is an art that requires passion and consistency in order to understand the real meaning and intention of the original author.
Alejandro velasco Giraldo : In my opinion, translation is the field that bonds different cultures, the conversion of a language to another one. The purpose of translation is to convey the original one and intention of a message, taking into account cultural and regional differences.
Andrés Villarreal: The key skills of the translator are the ability to understand the source language and the culture of the country where the text is originated. Then using a set of good dictionaries, webpages, translation software, translation memories in order to render that material clearly and accurately into the target language. In a nutshell the most important mark of a good translator is the ability to write well in the target language.
Juan Restrepo Muñoz: In my opinion, translation is like a bridge between cultures and countries to share information and knowledge. For me thanks to translation, it is possible to know everything about different fields of science and arts
Juan Felipe Serna Franco: According to the topics learnt in the translation course, I perceive translation as the artistic connection among cultures.
Paula Andrea Tovar Anturi: Based on the information acquired in the translation I course, I think that translation is a technique that demands an extensive knowledge about the target language and the original text in order to transmit ideas in an adequate way.
Kelly Johanna cubillos: For me translation is the art of transmitting meaning from one language (the source) to another language (target text). That it is to say, the communication of meaning in an accurate way from a source- language text to an equivalent target- language text, trying to keep the author’s style.
Ana María Garay: Translation is an art. We can share and transmit knowledge through language and it is a form to preserve culture. Translation can be compared with music. To play a musical instrument we need to follow a process that is very similar to translation in order to transmit feelings, stories, situations and dreams.
María Alejandra Zuluaga Castaño: For me translation is the way of transmitting knowledge from a one language to another one. Thanks to translation we can study cultures that currently are not existing; read investigations that were made in other countries and we can learn from different branches of knowledge regardless of the language in which these were written, and through books that have been translated.

Kevin Maya Martínez : For me translation is the art of converting texts from one language to another while keeping its semantic and cultural baggage, thus allowing access to its content for people coming from different parts of the world and overthrowing linguistic barriers for knowledge sharing.
Monica Alejandra Diaz Morales: For me translation is a science because through the translation of any language a new knowledge is generated. I also consider that it is an art because the translator plays with the meaning and with the words to translate it into the writings that he/she does.
Alexa Molina Hurtado: For me translation is an associated discipline that contributes to improve the performance of a rational task. Translation as a human activity, is targeted to objectivity of the translated text which in turn appeals to create the same effect of source text. Furthermore, this human activity cannot be studied as if it were a natural process independent from the human being.
Gabriela Parra Quiceno: It is a means of communication from source text to a target text. A translator should bear in mind translation techniques, linguistic aspects and cultural knowledge of the target language in order to have a final product completely adequate to render the intention of original text.
Alejandra Arango Toro: For me translation is the art to communicate from one language to another. It is the way to blockade the barriers of communication making the access to information easier
Andrés Mauricio Salazar: For me translation is the ability to connect the world between languages, to express the same ideas in different cultures or contexts. Translation translation also opens minds and gets the world closer.
